Chika Ike Lost Her Pride, Self-Esteem And Baby In Her Broken Marriage

Chika-Ike
Divorced Nollywood actress, Chika Ike seems not to forget the woes of her marriage in a hurry, as she has come out with more scathing revelations against her ex-husband, Tony Eberiri.
Chika exposed her pain via her Facebook posts:
“Growing up as a girl, I was always known as the sweetest kid on the bloc. Before I got married, I have been through some relationships and for once, no man had ever laid a finger on me.
The first time it happened in my marriage, I didn’t understand it because I am not the type of woman a man beats but I guess there are no types. It just happens and no woman deserves it. I thought it was love or his way of expressing his emotions, but after every beating, he pleads, cries and says it won’t happen again; once again, I thought it was love and made excuses for him.
Over the years, when it kept happening consistently, I started looking for other definitions for it. I started losing my self-pride, self-esteem, self-worth, and most painfully, I lost my baby, (miscarriage).I almost lost my life in the process, and then I realized how serious and abnormal it really was.

I Was Never Beaten Up – Jide Kosoko

Jide
Earlier in the week, the news about town was that veteran actor, Jide Kosoko was assaulted and beaten by video club owners. It was said that the actor who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Video Rental Operators of Nigeria was mediating in a crisis in the association when he was assaulted and injured during a fracas.
But the actor, in a telephone chat, said he was never beaten.
Kosoko, who was reluctant to talk about the incident as it was against his principle to grant t elephone interview however said it was impossible for anybody to beat him up.
“I was never beaten up. I am a member of the board of trustees of the Video Rental Operators of Nigeria and there was a crisis in the association. I was there to mediate and find way to resolve the crisis. While that was happening, there was a fracas with the video club owners as they began fighting one another. Someone threw a plastic bottled water and it hit me in the eye. That was it,” he said.
Confirming what her father said, Sola Kosoko said it was impossible for anybody to beat her father up.
Sola said she heard about the story on the radio and wondered how they came up with such story.
She said, “I heard about the news on radio but how could anyone have beaten up my father? It is not possible.”

Meet The Ifa Priest That Most Pastors and Imams Secretly Consult

ele
Prominent ifa priest, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon in this interview shares his experiences as a traditional priest
How long did you spend to learn Ifa?
I started learning from my father at the age of four. My father later gave me out to another priest who taught me. I stayed there for 10 years and six months. After that, I started learning from my father’s colleagues at different locations. I moved from Ilobu to Ede, Ibadan and Oyo to add to my knowledge of Ifa. Ifa knowledge is extended, so you continue to learn until you are dead.
ifa
Apart from Nigerians, do you have foreigners consulting Ifa through you?
As I said earlier, some of those who consult me are based abroad. They make telephone calls almost everyday. They send e-mails to me asking me to consult for them and to prepare sacrifices and to do other things for them. I have a lot of clients abroad.
Can you recollect any occasion when you were saved by Ifa?
There was a year I was invited to the University of Ibadan for a programme. On the day of the programme, I was set to go and I consulted Ifa to know how the outing would turn out but it was negative. I asked Ifa, “should I not go for the programme? And it said, no don’t go.” So, I cancelled the outing and stayed back indoors. The following day, somebody came and brought a newspaper and I read how those who attended the programme were beaten and molested. I couldn’t believe it; I had to fetch the invitation card to ascertain that the programme I was invited to attend was the one disrupted. I thanked Ifa because it saved my life that day.
Do you think that you could one day be converted to Islam or Christianity?
That one cannot happen. I have a deep understanding of the Bible and Quran and I also have a good understanding of Ifa but I cannot renounce Ifa. Christians and Muslims scare people with hell fire but I want you to listen to my CD on who will go to hell fire. They say that you will go to hell fire if you are not a Christian or a Muslim, but I am not afraid of hell fire because I am not a wicked person. I know what you can do that will take you to hell fire and I don’t do such things. What will now pursue me to be converted to Christianity or Islam? There is no problem that Ifa cannot solve. A lot of Christians, even pastors and Imams come to consult Ifa and use Ifa to solve their problems. But because we believe in fidelity, it is forbidden for me to start mentioning their names. It is confidential just like medical doctors don’t disclose the ailments of their patients to just anybody. Pastors and imams come to me and I prepare a lot of things for them. I use my Ifa knowledge to solve their problems. So, how am I supposed to go to them? Just this afternoon, a leader of a church came here wearing a native dress, you can’t know that he is a pastor but I know.

Read The Open Letter Nigerian Ambassador Wrote to US Senator Ted Cruz Over Insult

ted
Dear Senator,
RE: NIGERIAN EMAIL SCAMMERS AND OBAMACARE
You are no doubt aware of the reaction of Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to a statement credited to your good self on the above. Our immediate reaction at the Embassy is to assume that you were wrongly quoted and that the statement would be denied.
We are however surprised that this has not happened. We have no choice than to assume that the statement was deliberately made by you. For a start we are shocked that a high profile Senator of a country which is at the forefront in building a peaceful and stable world in which nations and peoples treat each other with mutual respect could be engaged in an act which offends the sensitivities of an important component of his constituency.
Distinguished Senator I am sure you are sufficiently familiar with the constructive contributions which Nigerians have made to economic, social and political lives of Texas especially in the Houston area. Every country has its own share of law breakers. To use the activities of few as an opportunity to cast aspersions on the integrity of a country and its people is not only unfair but also excessively offensive.
You yourself made the point that the so-called email scammers have disappeared from the scene. But it is not because they were recruited to work on Obamacare. It is because of the successful efforts of our government working through the Embassy and the international law enforcing agents to curb the activities of these few law breakers.
It is not the practice of any Nigerian diplomatic mission to interfere in the domestic affairs of our host countries. But we will not sit back, fold our arms while a politician assaults the integrity of our country and people in the process of appeasing the base instincts of a few misguided elements in his constituency. Distinguished Senator the least we can say is that Nigerians feel offended by you. They demand an apology.

Fake NYSC Members Arrested By ICPC

Seventeen fake members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

They were picked up at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Kubwa, Abuja, on Thursday evening while they were posing and taking pictures outside the camp during the passing-out ceremony.

In a statement made available, the commission said its operatives stormed the camp based on intelligence reports and arrested the suspects comprising eight females and nine males.

It said preliminary investigation revealed that 15 of the suspects claimed to have enrolled in degree courses run by consultancy services in the University of Calabar (6), University of Jos (6), Ebonyi State University (1), Federal University of Technology, Owerri (1) and Crown Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti (1).

One of the fake corps members, the commission noted, never attended any university, but said she was desirous of getting a discharge certificate. Another suspect, a young man, impersonated his sister, a genuine corps member who was receiving medical treatment abroad, in order to collect her discharge certificate.

At various public fora, the ICPC chairman, Mr Ekpo Nta, has warned parents, guardians and young students seeking admission into universities and other tertiary institutions of learning to ensure that their proposed courses were approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other regulatory bodies.

This brings to 26, the total number of fake corps members arrested by ICPC this year as nine others were arrested in May. Similarly, the Department of State Security had on September 19, 2013 paraded a fake NYSC syndicate in Abuja.

The commission warned employers, parents and guardians to confirm from the NYSC if they were suspicious of any person submitting call-up letters, posting letters, discharged and exemption certificates.

Beverly Osu-I Dream Of Establishing A Church One Day

Here is what she told punch:

Quote
"I attended Daughters of Divine Love Convent, Enugu State.  I thought I would be a reverend sister but I abandoned the vision when I dropped out in my fifth year. I finished my secondary education in a secular institution before moving to Babcock University.  I could not finish from Babcock because I had some personal issues. Again, I dropped and enrolled at the National Open University..It affected me in a very spiritual way. In as much as I know worldly things, I still fear God and have faith in Him.  The reason why I wanted to become a nun was because I was raised in a Catholic home.  I just felt it was the best thing for me to do at that time. I used to see myself as a messenger of God.  Even though I did not become a nun, I still remain faithful to God. Part of my dreams is to establish a church and do a lot of charity work"

Temple stampede leaves 89 dead in India

A stampede outside a temple in central India killed at least 89 people Sunday, authorities said.
The incident occurred on a bridge over the Sindh River while pilgrims were headed to the temple for a Hindu festival.
"The death toll could go much higher as about 25,000 people were present on the bridge at that time," said D.K. Arya, a local deputy police inspector.
A rumor that the bridge was about to collapse caused panicked people to stampede, police told CNN sister network CNN-IBN.
Many people jumped off the bridge into the river, Arya said.
The stampede occurred at a temple in the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

Nigeria survived a scare in Addis Ababa as the African champions rallied
to beat Ethiopia 2-1 in the opening leg of their World Cup play-off
.

BBC Sport
October 13, 2013

The hosts were the superior team for the first hour and led after 56 minutes as Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama misjudged a cross from Behailu Assefa.
Nigeria, who were not at their best, equalised through Emmanuel Emenike's ferocious drive after 67 minutes.

Emenike then won and scored a penalty late on to seal a barely-deserved win.

The match was in the 90th minute when Aynalem Hailu needlessly brought the Nigerian down, so allowing the Turkey-based striker to coolly slot home a decisive goal.

"Ethiopia's play scared us in the first half but we showed why we are the African champions in the second half - that's what makes the difference," assistant coach Daniel Amokachi told BBC Sport.

Bidding to qualify for their fifth World Cup in six attempts, Stephen Keshi's side grew stronger as the game wore on and could have led after 77 minutes as Ahmed Musa thumped a close-range strike against the inside of the post.

Defeat was cruel on Ethiopia coach Sewnet Bishaw, whose impressed with their technical play but who lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Trying to become the first East African nation to appear at a World Cup, the Walya Antelopes thought they had opened the scoring after 24 minutes through Saladin Said.

The forward controlled a long diagonal ball well and managed to beat Enyeama only to see Gofrey Oboabona clear off the line, with many inside a packed Addis Ababa Stadium - Said included - believing a goal had been scored.

So there was a hint of irony when Ethiopia made the breakthrough in similar style as Enyeama was slow to react to a left-wing cross from Assefa, with the Nigerian badly positioned as he caught the ball behind the line.

There was a split second of hesitation before the home fans realised a goal had been scored, prompting an outpouring of celebration from the hordes of colourful Ethiopian supporters.

Pastor Lazarus’ Church, Lord Chosen Ministries Denies Closure

lord ch
Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, yesterday, denied stories that the Lagos State Government had closed the church headquarters located in the Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate, for violating environmental laws of the state, saying the church has not been closed by any government.
A statement by the church’s Director of Public Relations/Press, Pastor Louis Chidi stated that the church and all her activities were running as usual, confirming, however, that officials of the Office of Drainage Services in the Lagos State Ministry of Environment actually gave notice about a particular facility that did not observe a certain requirement on the canal.
The full statement: “Our attention has been drawn to the news being circulated that our church has been closed by the Lagos State Ministry of Environment. We wish to state the fact for the interest of our members and general public.
“First the church has not been closed by any government. The church and all her activities are running as usual.
“The fact is that officials of Lagos State Government from the Office of Drainage Services in the Ministry of Environment gave notice about a particular facility that did not observe the required set back from the canal.
“They therefore asked that the facility should not be used until necessary amendment is made. We have since complied and the facility reverted to the former status. Please take note that the church did not stop functioning because of this as there are many other facilities within the church premises.
“The second observation raised was the issue of street market that sprang up at the bus stop. We also want to state that the church never encouraged street trading within the estate or along its road because on many occasions it has caused traffic obstruction to those coming into the church premises.
“The church authority has also repeatedly warned those traders to stop desecrating the holy ground and several other efforts made to stop the illegal market were to no avail as most of them claimed to be paying rent and taxes to the ‘authority.’
“Meanwhile, officials of the task force section of the ministry have already dispersed the street traders.
“We wish to state emphatically that The Lord’s Chosen Church is a law-abiding ministry and will remain so in all her activities by the grace of God. The church was never closed, and above all, the cordial relationship existing between the state government and the church remains intact.
“We will continue to support and pray for the government of the state, her citizens and indeed the entire country,” he stated.
Meanwhile, spokesman for the Lagos State Ministry of Environment, Mr. Fola Adeyemi, yesterday, stated that the state government’s closure of the church will continue until its authorities fully comply with the environmental breaches.
The headquarters of the Lord’s Chosen and Charismatic Revival Church, Ijesha, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos, were sealed off by the Lagos State Government over environmental nuisance.
Officials of the Ministry of the Environment shut the church in the morning of on October 6, 2013, and prevented worshipers from having their Sunday service usually attended by thousands of faithful.

Jim Iyke, Nadia Buari Romance Continues: Wedding on The Cards?

Jim-Iyke-Nadia-Buari
When the news and the video of Nollywood superstar, Jim Iyke’s purported deliverance from demons went viral, some saw it as a gag by the actor to blow his image out of proportion, while others felt there was more to it than meet the eye. Yet, there are some who felt the actor has shot his career into oblivion but one person who doesn’t seem fazed by the development is his girlfriend, Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari as the couple were spotted last weekend in Accra.
It would appear the actor is taking his ‘delivered’ status very seriously and keeping his itinerary not too far away from the confines of ‘Holy’ places as the report claims he was seen leaving a church after a night vigil with his girlfriend, Nadia.
Another report has hinted the lovers have already concluded plans to tie the nuptial in December this year, at least, so it would appear, since the ‘demonic spirits’ who have kept him away from marrying have been exorcised at Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations.
But one thing seems to have definitely changed about Jim, that is, his nature, which is now calmer, less asserting, and the former Sexiest Man in Nollywood is now more preoccupied with evangelising and preaching the word of God. One of his recent tweets was his way of getting back at his critics, but not the old-fashion Jim Iyke’s way, but the ‘delivered’ Jim’s way “”His mercy grants true happiness and salvation which you quest. It’s devoid of popular opinion”.
